الدكتور يزن الصمادي
الدكتور يزن انهى دراسة البكالوريوس بتخصص هندسة القوى الكهربائية في جامعة اليرموك عام 2010 وكان الأول على تخصصه وحصل على جائزة أعلى معدل تراكمي في الجامعه.
وبعد هيك كمل دراسة الماستر والدكتوراه في جامعة ولايه أوهايو الامريكيه (The Ohio State University) وبرضو حاز على جائزة (presidential fellowship ) وهي أعلى وأصعب جائزة تعطى لطالب الدكتوراة في ولايه أوهايو نظرا لإسهاماته البحثيه وتميزه الأكاديمي.
الدكتور يزن الصمادي يشغل حاليا أيضا منصب خبير أبحاث متقدم (Senior Research Scientist ) في اكبر شركه للطاقه الكهربائيه في الولايات المتحده الامريكيه وعضو هيئة تدريس في قسم الهندسه الكهربائيه في جامعه أوهايو الامريكيه العريقه.
الاهتمامات العلمية والبحثية لدكتور يزن متنوعه وعديده ، حيث قام بنشر اكثر من 30 بحث في المجلات العلمية المتقدمه في مجالات التحكم المتقدم بانظمة القوى الكربائيه ودمج أنظمة الطاقه المتجدده بالشبكة الكهربائيه . ولأنه الشخص المتميز ما بوقف عند أخذ العلم وبس، دكتور يزن طبق العلم الي تعلمه في مجموعة كبيرة من المشاريع العلميه في مجال الطاقة الكهربائيه والطاقة المتجددة كالطاقة الشمسية و طاقة الرياح.
ويعتبر خبير ومستشار في هذا المجال في العديد من الشركات العالميه في امريكا والصين وروسيا زي American Electric Power); Boeing; General Electric (GE) Aviation, General Motors (GM); Ford; State Grid وغيرها الكثير.
Dr. Yazan M. Alsmadi received the B.S. degree (Summa Cum Laude, Ranked First in Class) in Electrical Power Engineering from Yarmouk University, Jordan, in 2010, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University (OSU), Columbus, OH, USA, in 2012 and 2015, respectively. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan. He is also a Senior Research Scientist in the Advanced Transmission Studies and Technology group at American Electric Power (AEP) utility company, New Albany, OH, USA, which is the largest utility company in the U.S, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the Oho State University.
Dr. Alsmadi is a well-known young expert in the field of renewable energy and power systems. He has served as a consultant to several international companies, including American Electric Power (AEP), OH, USA; Boeing, Settle, Washington, USA; General Electric (GE) Aviation, Cincinnati, OH, USA; U.S. Wind Power Company; General Motors (GM); Ford; State Grid, Beijing, China; and Inter RAO, Moscow, Russia, for various industrial projects. He is currently the team leader of huge research projects in China ($15 M) and Russia ($10 M), which are related to the integration of renewable energy resources into the power grid. Dr. Alsmadi also participated in the establishment the new Center for High Performance Power Electronics (CHPPE) facility ($15 M) at OSU. This involved managing the acquisition of over a million dollars’ worth of capital assets, coordinating with industrial partners as well as organizing the center meetings and big events. Dr. Alsmadi also has a wide international experience in engineering training and education, improving the effectiveness of higher education and STEM based training and teaching initiatives.
Dr. Alsmadi is the recipient of several prestigious awards. This includes the 2016 Outstanding Performance Award from American Electric Power, 2014 Presidential Fellowship, the most competitive and prestigious scholarly recognition provided by The Ohio State University Graduate School; the Best Presentation Award at the IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Expo (ECCE 2014); the Distinguish Service Award at the 2012 & 2013 IEEE Columbus Spring Awards Banquets; and the Yarmouk University Presidential Award for academic distinction. He served as an Exhibition Chair for the First International IEEE Workshop on Wide Bandgap Power Applications (WIPDA) in 2013; and a Program Chair of the First Annual Review Meeting of the Center for High Performance Power Electronics (CHPPE) in 2012. Dr. Alsmadi also served as a president for the IEEE Graduate Student Body at The Ohio State University (IEEE GSB), which is the first IEEE graduate student body worldwide.
Dr. Alsmadi current research interests include modeling, advanced control and grid integration of renewable energy conversion systems; advanced control theory of distributed power and variable speed systems; the development of power electronics systems for renewable energy applications; and advanced analysis, operation and control of power systems. Dr. Alsmadi has more than thirty research papers published in the most prestigious international research Journals and conferences.
